Affordable Sailing for the Disabled
The Disabled Sailing Association is non-profit making and run for the disabled and by the disabled.
The thrill and joy of sailing at sea
We aim to give people with a disability the opportunity to enjoy a safe and pleasurable experience of seagoing sailing, including short local cruising of about two to three hours and, for the more adventurous, longer coastal passages.
Currently we have Disability Awareness-trained volunteer helpers, all with CRB clearance, working with our disabled members enabling people to participate as fully as possible in a seagoing, sailing experience.
We are also encouraging and supporting more of our members and volunteers to take RYA training to Coastal Skipper standards; several disabled members have already achieved this.
Our vessels have all taken the RNLI sea safety checks and follow their recommendations.
