Here we have some ideas of how you can help raise funds for the DSA. As the Treasurer points out every year we must raise enough money to keep the boats in safe condition to give you the members the sailings you want, train the skippers and crew to make these sailings, insure and berth the boats. So please, every little helps. If we all rely on each other to raise the funds, we will very soon sink without a trace.
Quite apart from helping out with collection boxes on our collection days, do, you know of a local shop, pub or business that would take one of our collection boxes?
The more sporting or adventurous of you might like to sponsorship for you endeavours. Past donations have included people who have parachuted, ran the Torbay Half Marathon or Swam.
We now have a new site where you can donate to us or if you are going to do an event for charity and choose us, you can set up a blog and link it to our page to get an official recognition.
If you have any CD’s or DVD’s that you no longer want we can sell them and raise money for DSA. Also any games, electronics or clothes. If you shop online why not register with www.easyfundraising.org.uk/DSA with DSA as your designated charity.
Every time you want to shop online, log in to easy fundraising and select your company. Shop as normal. They do offer promotion codes and discounts. When you purchase anything the company gives a percentage to DSA. So far we have received £305.92 (October 2016) just by shopping through easy fundraising. Some of the companies that have been used by members of the committee are Amazon, M&S, B&Q and Bunches – a lovely flower delivery site which earns you money off future purchases when you send flowers.
If you are employed and would like to donate directly from your wages, Give As You Earn is a good way to do it. See the website below for details:
