Our friends at BCSC held their 199^th Regatta with four races over Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning 15-16th June. We were delighted to be invited to be their Committee Boat this year and so we took DSA Freedom on both days from which the Race Officer started the races and recorded the individual timings.

This was a new experience for most of the full members on board who were keen to understand the rules and details of the course setup and were a great help to the Race Officer by waving the starting flags enthusiastically (see above pics!). We even had some virtual bets on who would win and one of my guests would have won big had the bets been real!! It’s also a lesson on how to anchor forward and aft in strong currents to hold position for any crew that needs the practice!!
