Torbay Invitational
For this year’s we entered both Free Spirit 2 and Freedom and were placed a very respectful 16th and 17th respectively out of a total of 19 competitors.
The event is designed to promote inclusivity and to encourage more people to start sailing in the Bay – which is something we clearly support.
Over 230 crew were crammed into the RTYC for the pre-race brief and again for the post-race BBQ and prizegiving during which we had the opportunity to address the competitors and to extend invitations to anyone they feel could benefit from joining the DSA. My thanks to Jan and team for manning the raffle which made over £1200! (that’s what I call a raffle!!).
